SOLD OUT: Query Letter Feedback Workshop
Not sure why your query letter isn't getting any responses? Register for my upcoming class and receive a 5 minute walkthrough in which I tell you what is and isn't working.
Sending out query emails can feel like yelling into the void.
Is anyone listening? Are you doing something wrong? I have posted a few articles on this topic:
Once you incorporate this advice, you should start receiving more responses when you send out your query.
But if you don’t, it means your email is either failing to draw attention or is turning your reader off.
Which one is it?
Is your concept going the distance?
Is your logline grabbing their attention?
Does your bio demonstrate a strong writer brand?
I’m Audrey Knox, a literary manager at Cartel Entertainment who writes about how to become Fluent in Screenwriting through Hollywood Immersion without having to move to Los Angeles. Since 2018, I have staffed writers on shows including Hacks, Single Drunk Female, Ginny & Georgia, P-Valley, grown-ish, and Reasonable Doubt. My clients have written the feature films Alice, Darling (Lionsgate), Crushed (Tubi), The Santa Summit (Hallmark), and the Single Black Female franchise (Lifetime).
I receive dozens of queries from new potential clients in my email inbox every day.
When I read a query in my email inbox, it gets 5-10 seconds of my attention.
Here’s what’s going through my head during this time:
Does this script sound like something entertaining that I would want to read?
Does this writer seem like a professional who knows what they’re doing?
Is it worth my time to engage further?
What do I think when I read your query email?
If you book a spot in my upcoming workshop that takes place on Saturday April 13th at 10amPT, you won’t have to guess.
I’ll tell you.
In our class, I will spend 5 minutes discussing with you, one-on-one, what is and isn’t working in your query email. I will make actionable, specific recommendations on what you should change.
You will also have the opportunity to watch me break down and analyze the other workshop attendees’ queries. There will be plenty of chances to learn from the techniques and mistakes of others.
Don’t keep sending your logline into the void.
You could waste years of your life sending out query emails and getting no responses.
And you only get one chance to make a first impression with a manager.
Not knowing how to pitch yourself will cost you thousands of dollars and countless missed opportunities over the course of your career. You can avoid all this, receive one-on-one feedback from me, and get 90 minutes of query email content for just $175.
Sign up now for personalized feedback on your query email.
When I receive a query that doesn’t interest me, I skim and delete it.
Or I offer a generic, “This isn’t for me” response. I just don’t have time to give more feedback than that during my busy workday. This is your ONLY opportunity to get detailed, honest feedback from a literary manager about what is and isn’t working.
As well as actionable advice on how to fix it.
Sign up today, and I will see you on Saturday April 13th at 10amPT.
This meeting will be held on Zoom, so you can attend no matter where you are located.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How much does this cost? - Due to the personalized nature of this class, I have an extremely limited number of spots available. Therefore, I am offering an opportunity for 5 minutes of one-on-one personalized feedback on your query for $175.
What if I haven’t finished my script? - If I have notes on a logline, I usually have the same notes on the foundational story structure of the script. Therefore, you will benefit from receiving notes on your logline even if you haven’t finished your script yet. I don’t know when I’ll be hosting a workshop like this again, so I recommend taking of advantage of it now. Bring your logline and bio and use the feedback to help shape your script later.
Will this be recorded? - We will be discussing the project each writer is going out with, and will be talking about elements of their personal story. To preserve the privacy of the participants, I won’t be recording this one. Make sure you clear your calendars so you can attend on Saturday April 13th at 10amPT.

Sounds great, but is it helpful for someone just starting out or better for those more advanced? I was wondering about the strong writer bio you mentioned.
